Job Description

IBM is hiring Software Developer Interns for its 2026 Summer cohort across India Software Labs in Bangalore, Pune and Gurugram. The role plugs you directly into IBM's hybrid cloud and AI portfolio — watsonx, OpenShift, Red Hat Linux, Cloud Paks, Db2, Storage, IBM Z and Power. Eligibility: - Pre-final-year (graduating 2027) students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, ECE, EE or related fields from accredited institutes. - Strong programming foundations in at least one of Java, Python, JavaScript or Go, plus solid grasp of Data Structures, Algorithms and Object-Oriented Programming. - Exposure to Linux, Git, REST APIs and one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud or GCP) is a strong plus. What you will work on: - Embed into a feature squad inside IBM Software, IBM Research India or IBM Consulting and own a scoped engineering deliverable across the 8–10 week internship. - Build and ship microservices on Red Hat OpenShift, contribute to open-source CNCF projects, integrate watsonx.ai capabilities into enterprise products, or harden distributed-systems platforms used by Fortune 500 customers. - Pair with senior engineers, Distinguished Engineers and IBM Research scientists; participate in code reviews, design reviews and an end-of-internship demo.
